World T20

People will remember this date for a long time, or should remember in the days to come. This is the day of the final between India vs. Pakistan. Its significance is not derived from an intense and sometimes petty rivalry but for the fact that today is the final of T20 world tournament (mind you this is not classified as world cup by ICC).
This is the format that will lead ICC's ill thought out globalisation plan. This format will become the popular choice for cricket worldwide. It is completely realistic to think of cricket in Olympics and Asian games with this format and once it gets into such sport events than sports bodies in various countries will get on the act to win meddles.
This tournament has done everything that the more illustrious version in the Caribbean did not. It took only 13 days to finish, was action packed, had close games and all round entertainment. Stadiums were packed, tick prices were reasonable and there were many families who got their time and money's worth from the games.
Three games a day and bowl out will probably be kicked out but two games a day and a plate final, to decide third & fourth position before the final just like football world cup should be included. Just think about it, Australia vs. New Zealand as an appetiser before India vs. Pakistan main course.
No ball free hit should be done with, the game is tough enough for bowlers as it is and boundaries should be bigger then what they are to give spinners a chance and batsman something to think about.
Although you have to admire the size of the 6's that have been hit, how can any one hit 100 plus meter 6s.
I am completely bowled over by this game and we have seen the start of 50 over games' end.
I am looking forward to the finally and may we have a cracking contest the last thing we need is a one sided match.
May the best team win.
